Stone Guard for Ranger Raptor side steps.
Fits all Ranger Raptor vehicles from July 2022 onward (commonly known as Next-Gen Ranger)
Prevents stones, dirt and mud from being flicked up from the tyre onto the doors.
Manufactured from stainless steel, powder coated to match the Raptor step.
Free-draining design ensures no water is trapped whilst preventing anything being flicked up from the tyre.
Colour change over time.
Our development vehicle was fitted with a set of AusMotion stone guards for three months prior to product release. During installation the side steps were treated with Bowdens Mr Black to bring them back to the factory black colour which, then matches the brand new black powder coated finish of the AusMotion stone guard. The photos above show the stone guard and steps in that “as-new” clean finish.
Whilst Mr Black is intended to be used as a plastic trim restorer, it does an excellent job or refreshing the Ranger Raptor steps.
After six months with no special detailing or cleaning, subject to a mixture of rain and West Australian sun, the Ford step and AusMotion stone guard have both lost that “as-new” deep black colour and have taken on a similar, slightly grey appearance as shown in the photo below. This consistency of colour maintains the factory look and both parts can be easily darkened again as desired using Bowdnes Mr Black.
Bowdens Mr Black can be purchased in Australia from Supercheap Auto and Repco. If you’re outside Australia, you will find a black trim restorer at your local auto parts/detailing store – Make sure you dont treat the steps with any products containing silicon as they will make the step slippery.
