There’s no doubt that the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor is among the best all-round vehicles available today. However, for those who want to explore off-grid, charge power tools whilst on a work-site or simply keep some drinks cold in a reliable vehicle-mounted fridge, there are just a few options for installing a dual battery system.
With no space under the bonnet for the secondary battery, Ranger Raptor owners can fit the second battery either behind the rear seats or in a battery box mounted in the tub.

Behind Seat Dual Battery System
By positioning the dual battery system behind the rear seats, the battery and charger benefit from a cool and air-conditioned environment while the car is in operation and the battery is being charged.
This is a common location for a dual battery system in most dual cab vehicles, but for the Ranger Raptor battery options are limited by the behind-seat sub-woofer.

The iTechWorld 100SS super compact lithium battery fits perfectly between the seat base bracket and sub-woofer in a Ranger Raptor or Wildtrak with with premium audio system.
Installed without cutting the carpet panel it’s the perfect solution for people who run a lease car or simply want to return the vehicle to as-built condition in a few years.
In-Tub Dual Battery Box
Many Raptor owners decide to install the dual battery system in the tub, using a battery box secured with an AusMotion mount.
Whilst this offers several advantages such as the ability to easily lift it out of the car to power 12V lights or 12V fridge whilst camping, many Raptor owners find that the soft rear suspension can sag a little if too much weight is loaded behind the rear road axle.
Of course, the in-tub battery box consumes some space that would otherwise be available for transporting goods or equipment, so a behind-seat option may suit some owners better.
